0.000000000003% chance

...and we're going for it – Oz Lotto's $90,000,000 draw.

You can call it the world's smallest syndicate, but we prefer to think of it as 10 Wunderkids sharing a dream for $2.53 each. That could be the world's best investment too.

Good luck to the Wunderkids: Batten, Stubbs, Gerakiteys, Minicelli, Jerochim, Britt, Magliveras, Durant, Bentley and Glover. Here's hoping a windfall comes their way.

Google vs Parma

There is a lot of talk about BING and WolframAlpha, but we all know that Google's greatest threat is much closer to home.

The Wunderkids in Melb took the challenge and results are not yet in, but Chicken Parma at the monthly WunderLunch has a good shot at the title.

Love from Lydia

The old boys in creative have spent most of the day readying a concept for presentation this afternoon. Their idea is based around conversation and the personal touch. And what better way to bring this idea to life, than to give the concept a very personal touch. Seen here is Lydia doing exactly that, whilst below we see her admiring her handiwork. Fingers crossed the client likes it!

Microsoft have hidden $10,000 somewhere on the internet and if you find it, you get to keep it.

In a bid to get the internet community excited and promote their new browser, Internet Explorer 8, we’ve challenged all Aussies to explore the net in search of the hidden loot. Participants follow @tengrand_ie8 on Twitter for clues released every day at random times, sometimes even twice a day or more.

The treasure hunt has attracted attention on hundreds of blogs and forums with thousands of comments. Several online groups have started, the largest of which is on Whirlpool.net, where participants can share their thoughts on the cryptic clues and see if group thinking can solve the riddles.

The campaign also caught the attention of Evan Williams, CEO of Twitter, who tweeted his interest in the campaign to his 935,000 followers. Thank you Mr Williams.

Still in it’s early days with only half a dozen clues released thus far, treasure hunters are exercising all their brainpower to co-ordinate an exhaustive list of possible answers. In many instances, the thinking dives far too deep and overlooks the obvious, but it will all start making sense in the near future.

And on a final note:
Put a v on your shoulder

Check Mates

Winter hit Melbourne with a vengeance this week. And what better way to keep out the chills than with a cozy checked jacket. This funky blue retro number proved very popular with many of the gals around the office. It's quite fetching, don't you think?

Web of intrigue

Footwear, or lack there-of, is a popular topic of conversation in our Melbourne office. We posted a few months back about some of the stylish (and dare we say sexy) shoes being modelled by the account service team. And of course Stanley's Paul Smith sock fetish has long passed into ad industry legend.

Yesterday however we saw the emergence of something altogether different. Rather than try to explain, we're inviting you to guess the reasoning behind this very unexpected choice of footwear.
What was Suze thinking when she wore these to work?

I am woman, hear me roar

They're forecasting heavy rain

I dress for style not comfort

At least I wear shoes, Stan!

A taste of Young

Ever wondered what the best cookies in Australia taste like? Well the Melbourne crew are wondering no longer, after marvelous Melanie Elliott brought in a batch of the bestest cookies in the world ever!

These scrumptious morsels were baked with love in her home town of Young in country NSW.

Mel says Young is known as Cherryland. And who are we to not believe her? But from now on, we think Young should be known as the Cookie Capital of Australia.

Laptop Hunter Hits the Streets for Microsoft

This week, Microsoft's Laptop Hunter has hit the streets of Sydney and Melbourne giving away $1300 laptop shopping sprees. The premise was simple - You find it, you keep it.

To break the consumer perception that you have to spend thousands to get a decent laptop, we developed the Laptop Hunter campaign to let ordinary people learn for themselves the fact that there's a whole range of great laptops available at a heap of different retailers for less than $1300.

Each morning, listeners tuned in to Nova FM to hear clues as to the whereabouts of the mystery man Laptop Hunter or visited Nova's website for the clues. Punters then had to deduce the correct location, approach everyone they saw, and say "I can buy a great laptop for less than $1300". If they said it to our hidden man, he'd put them to that challenge by handing over the cash and taking them shopping.

We followed our winning shopper around town as they hunted down their brand new laptop for less than $1300. If they found it, they kept it. Plus the change.

Where they went, what they bought and how good a deal they got was all entirely up to them. As you can see in the videos (one posted above, the rest can be found on www.nova969.com.au), there's a big range, and everybody has different tastes and criteria in choosing the perfect laptop for their needs.

The campaign idea came from a US TV commercial for Microsoft in which a girl buys a laptop. However, for the Aussie market, we wanted to get radio and online exposure, viral word-of-mouth activity on the streets, an exciting "anyone can win" frenzy in public places, and our shoppers to be a mixed bag of random ordinary people plucked off the street. The bulk of the campaign was in the lap of the gods and could have gone in any direction because we didn't have any control over where the winner went, what they did, said and bought.

Next week, the Laptop Hunter heads to sunny Brisbane to create a stir there and give away $1300 laptop shopping sprees to Queenslanders.

Microsoft Remix Takes Off

Remix09 is on today. Maverix and Codeman have completed their training, conducted a flight check and are finally taking to the skies on their first sortie.

We wish them well on their mission together and offer them this sage advice:
Never leave your wingman. Never.

What's she hiding?

Our National Wunder-beanie Mel is spending a lot of time in Melbourne at the moment sampling our shops and bars, when she isn't crunching out some uber-complex pivot-tables in Excel as she provides cover for our recenty departed 'Pirate' (former Wunder-beanie who has moved back to Sydney).

But we all want to know what she is trying to hide? Any ideas??

Tasty Dishes

The Wunderkids in Melbourne have a monthly traditional whereby we trot off to some fine eating establishment for a bit of nosh, some banter and perhaps a cheeky Shiraz.

Last month was a real treat where everything from the concrete walls to the huge Rhino trophy were covered in a deluxe kaleidoscopic velour.

The chicken and leek pie was delish too.

Cat's Away

Hi Jo,

We hope you have arrived safely in the US and are all prepared for the Microsoft conference. We are all working hard and keeping the agency running smoothly, so no need to worry about us. You have enough on your plate.

Speaking of plates, Terry and Rabbit developed and deployed an appetite for the Guinness Beef Pie while I worked hard on the Fish and Chips. The Production Team managed to dispatch several drinks, and Account Service took a new brief on what to eat. Of course, the Creative Department have come up with some great new ideas for next week.

Must run, the jelly-machine has just arrived.

Matt.

Print, print and more print

Mishy and Toni are seen here contemplating the smorgasbord of print related paraphenalia on show at PacPrint 09. However after one too many meetings with envelope manufacturers, Mishy's eyes obviously began to grow a little tired.

Where's the party?

Wunderman has a dedicated onsite team out at Ford in Broadmeadows. And like most workplaces, they love to get together to celebrate staff birthdays.

So much do they love a birthday cake, that they even celebrate when the birthday boy or girl isn't there.

So pictured above are the friends and colleagues of Sue Benston and Glenn Molony enjoying some delicious birthday cake in their absence!
